Bring the Spa and Salon Home!
Happy self-quarantine, everyone! It certainly has been a challenge for me getting used to this “new normal,” and who knows how long it will last. But it doesn’t mean we can’t make the most of this and treat ourselves. You can still bring some of the best spa and salon treatments (now all closed, of course) to your very own home.
Here are some of my favorite products to replicate that luxe salon experience at home:
Joanna Vargas Go-to-Glow Mask Set
Back in late February, I spent the afternoon at the Joanna Vargas salon for their signature Triple Crown Facial. I left with my skin cleaned out and exfoliated, refreshed, resilient, and glowing. I didn’t need to wear makeup for the next four days — and probably could have gone longer were there not some evening events I had to attend. For maintenance, I’ve been using different Joanna Vargas sheet masks on average 1-2 times per week, all of which are included in this Go-to-Glow Mask Set. They’re perfect if you want to get that glowing skin at home when you’re unable to go in for an actual facial. The Eden Instant Lift Face Mask may be my favorite of all of them — it truly firms and brightens your skin as if you just stepped out of the spa.
For all you gadget lovers out there, this is a true must have and the only skin-toning tool of its kind on the market. Cryotherapy, as many of you probably already know, is the use of low temperatures to reduce aging, puffiness, pore size, even redness (probably my biggest “skin issue”). And until now, it was a treatment available only at a doctor’s office or med spa.
It’s best to leave the CryoDrop in the fridge for a few minutes for a few minutes, and then just massage away. Perfect for a quick refresh, for any areas that you want to tighten and firm — and especially good for under eye puffiness. Plus it just feels amazing!
To rid your skin of impurities (and, of course, makeup) in between facials, a good cleanser is essential. I’ve tried many cleansers over the years, and as someone with very sensitive (and fair) skin, I’m always looking for ones that cleanse thoroughly but also gently while reducing redness. This Korres cleanser is made with real Greek Yoghurt, and the probiotics give my skin a much needed balance after a long day (and these WFH days can get pretty long, too!). It’s also free of Sulfates and Parabens, two active ingredients that are often the biggest culprits in causing skin to flare up. It’s also extremely soothing and comforting.
Boscia Triple Serum
Serum layering is something that I’m fairly new to but it’s ideal if you are looking to address a number of skin concerns.
I like to start with the Boscia Vitamin C with Caviar Lime Booster Serum — you always want to start with the lightest, most active serum first for maximum absorption. The AHA Caviar limes work overnight to smooth and exfoliate any unevenness that you may have gotten over the day, leaving you with a lovely regenerated glow when you wake up!
The Vegan Collagen Booster Serum is the anti-aging serum that gets applied next — if you’re looking for plumper skin and to soften wrinkles and fine lines, this works so incredibly well.
And finally, the B12 Hydration Booster Serum tops everything off. It’s made from 70% oil and 30% water, and it seals everything in to hydrate and revitalize your skin overnight. I’ve gotten B12 shots in the past, which gave me so much energy, and I’m so glad to finally see them be used in skincare products!
Thicker Fuller Hair Shampoo & Conditioner
With hair salons closed as well, I’m trying my best to keep my hair in good shape. I have naturally very fine hair, and since I also highlight it, I have to make it a point to keep my hair strong and well conditioned. These products from Thicker Fuller Hair do such an amazing job at strengthening each individual strand of my hair because — unlike most hair products — they focus on nourishing the scalp. This is a relatively new trend in the hair industry, but just like our skin, our scalps need “facials” too to rid the area of impurities and unclog our follicles (all of which can impede hair growth). Even if you have thicker hair, your strands can get much weaker from clogged follicles, and this shampoo and conditioner will fortify those strands to get your locks that much healthier and shinier. And the prices could not be better — all around $10!
Now that I’m working from home, I’m air drying my hair more than usual, just to give it a bit of a break. But around once or twice a week, I like to step it up a bit and give myself a proper blow dry. This Ecru blow dry spray is perfect if you’re missing your professional blowouts and want to achieve that same look at home. It has hydrolyzed keratin, so it gives my hair that perfectly smooth, shiny look of a professional blowout. My hair often gets dry because of my highlights, and this spray works so well to strengthen and smooth my hair — plus it’s a heat protectant!
JINsoon HyperCare Series
In lieu of nail salons, I’ve been bringing the mani home. These JINsoon products — just released this month — do a fantastic job at strengthening my nail base, which makes my polish go on smoother and last much longer. I’ve been using this Hyper Repair as a base coat for a couple of weeks now, and not only is my nail bed already stronger, but my nails are actually starting to grow! With nail salons closed for the foreseeable future, I have no doubt they’ll get even better (I’ll let you know) over the next few weeks, and — who knows — I may never have to use acrylics ever again! If you’re already missing your professional manis, these JINsoon products will nourish and strengthen your nails so that they will remain chic and polished even at home.
And their top coat and quick dry products will reduce your drying time by a good 5 minutes!

Love this post!! Definitely need to try some of these products!
Love the reminder that we can still treat ourselves and have ‘ spa days ‘ at home! I recently got an ice roller face thing off Amazon and it is my new fav beauty tool! It feels so relaxing in the morning and removes puffiness!

These are such excellent ideas for at-home pampering. I’ve been doing a lot of that lately. Facials and hair masks and manicures and more! I gotta get my hands on some of your favorite products to test them for myself!
What great products! I’ve been doing a lot of spa stuff at home while we’re in isolation.
I haven’t tried these but they all sound great! Spa-time is a great way to pass this quarantine.
