Hi! Welcome to my website. I’m Melissa Vale and this is my blog, where I lend my own perspective on what it’s like to live, hustle, and travel in style. I’m a true New Yorker and Princeton University alumna, and also a journalist who contributed to the Huffington Post, covering various high-profile events in the Big Apple.

On the job, I engaged with many an incredible personality, which solidified my grasp of fashion, art, culture, and philanthropy. I like to think that the experience gave me an edge in the fashion and lifestyle space, enabling me to contribute to today’s growing conversation on style and culture online.

A Sartorial Story

While my stint as a journalist let me capture New York and its people in witty write-ups, I have always had my own story to tell. Long before I wrote about it for other people, I’ve always harbored an interest in fashion. My passion for it was only brought into the limelight when, one particular Sunday, on my way to show apartments for real estate clients, I asked my husband to take photos of my look.

Much to my surprise, the photos picked up steam on social media. The response urged me to share my love for dressing up even more with my followers. Slowly, my Instagram feed transformed from a visual board of luxury properties—I previously used Instagram as an extension of my current job in real estate—to a feed that chronicled my work-to-weekend style.

My style is funky, but always put-together. While investment staples mixed with trendy pieces is often an approach for street style influencers, I like to wear any ensemble that does not necessarily subscribe to what’s vogue or tried-and-tested.

Outside of fashion, I do a lot of traveling. I have also been tapped as a speaker for an FIT class on the business of influence.
