New Year, New Handbag: Introducing Mia Elias
It has always been my goal – both on my social media platforms and here on The Melissa Vale – to help you all curate the lifestyle you’ve always dreamed of. As we kick off 2019, TMV will continue to be the destination for tips and tricks for effortless elegance and accessible luxury sourced from all around the world.
On that note, I want to introduce you all to a Berlin-based luxury handbag company that I discovered not too long ago – on Instagram, actually! Mia Elias is, above all, a heritage brand of hand-sewn bags that use selected Italian calf skins and are produced in a small Spanish village. Founded by Nadra Claussen, her collections are practical yet elegant, driven by colors and functional designs.
The Red Madame is perhaps the most elegant piece in her collection: the scalloped edges are a favorite touch of mine. I couldn’t get enough of this bag during the Christmas season, as many of you may have seen on my Instagram stories, but of course the bag is timeless and seasonless.
It’s actually the perfect transition bag which I can use throughout the day; from my real estate appointments and fashion press previews to cocktail parties. The chain falls so comfortably on my wrist and I love how it can be both casual and elegant.
The two toned pink “Mia” bag is the ultimate crossbody bag with its super chic utilitarian look. The calfskin is subtle and the bag is incredibly roomy with compartments for makeup, biz cards, and other essentials. I also love this soft pinkish shade because it’s neutral enough to wear all year round. And I’m all for adding some cheery pastel shades to any winter look!
The Gina pochette is, in my opinion, a sleeker take on the WOC – and it comes in a powder blue shade that I simply couldn’t resist. I styled it super casually here, but it would look fierce paired with a simple cocktail dress for the perfect work-to-cocktail party look, am I right?
Most importantly, the prices were kept accessible (the Madame and Mia bags are both under $500, and the Gina is under $350) – not an easy feat given the painstaking craftsmanship and uncompromising quality of the bags. This was always a priority for the brand and staying faithful to its heritage.
And that’s why I’m introducing you all to these bags. Starting this month, Mia Elias will be shipping to the US! You can check out the rest of the collection on their site (www.mia-elias.com).
xx, M.
