Ultimate Summer Glow Guide: My Favorite Highlighters

The summer season is in full-affect which means it’s the perfect time to go for that no makeup look. The best way I achieve this fresh face is by simply using a highlighter! From liquid highlighters to pressed powders, it can be tricky finding the right formula to get my glow on. That’s why I have put together my top picks that work with any complexion. This guide makes it oh-so-easy for you to choose a formula that best suits your beauty routine!

My current favorite happens to be the Ripe Flesh Glisten Drops. Not only is it the perfect travel size, but the shine intensity is the most customizable. It’s formulated with pearl mica drops and can be used blended in along the cheekbone. I like to apply a small amount for a subtle glow, or you can build it up if you’re looking for an intense highlight. It comes in a blush shade as well, which works perfectly with a fair complexion like mine.

Not only is the price right on the Physicians Formula HighlighterBronzer, but this wonderful cream/powder formula miraculously gives an airbrushing quality to the skin! Give Physicians Formula bronzer a try if you’re looking for an overall glow and pair it with the highlighter for the cheeks, bridge of the nose, and cupid’s bow. Both of these products give me that true sun-kissed look I strive for all summer long!

Kevyn Aucoin Glass Glow Face Liquid Highlighter in Prism Roseis a favorite of mine for a number of reasons! It’s one of the few face glosses that also soothes and hydrates my skin. It evens out any red or inflamed areas, and doubles as a beautiful body glow!

The A-Line Liquid Highlighterfrom Giorgio Armani is ideal when I want a highlight that is super light and subtle. I love reaching for this when I want something low maintenance for a true “no makeup look.” Available in Nude and Pink Nude.

The Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighterby Marc Jacobs is highly recommended if you’re looking for something that’s more concentrated, not glittery… which can be tough to find. The coconut water leaves me feeling nourished and hydrated. My skin feels soft and fresh even after I remove it. It’s available in a rose gold hue that’s flattering on all skin tones.

Without a doubt my absolute favorite powder formula for a highlighter is the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter.Champagne Pop is a classic from Becca for a reason, it works perfectly with so many different skin tones. I love its buildability and the creamy texture that doesn’t cake, which is always hard to find in a powder formula.

When I am wanting an effortless sculpted cheek bone, I reach for this product. The Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Contour Wandis great when I am getting ready for a special event, or just want to look great in a selfie. The sponge makes the application and blending very easy, and the pigments make for extremely natural looking shadows and highlights. This product is great if you are just learning or want something that is simple to apply.
